P.S.

Dear friends and family,

In case you receive a card this holiday season that is somewhat mangled, or seems furry, don't be too concerned.  I had extra help this year sending out our cards!

Lots of love!

12.06.09 First Snow

Even though I don't like cold winters, I'm somehow always excited for the first snowfall of the year.  This time, the snow arrived just in time for a family photo shoot I had planned.  I love how the snowy backdrop helps add to the photos without overpowering them with white!  Here are a few of my favorites from this weekend's collection.

11.22.09 - Family

I'm loving the way these photos turned out!  There will be more to come, of course, but here are a couple of my favorites from today...

David and Nicole

I always struggle with what gifts to buy for adults.  My thinking usually revolves around the idea that adults can support their own needs/wants for the most part!  This year I thought it would be nice to give photos as part of my gifts.  Being that I had a photo shoot in a local park nearby their home, I asked my brother and his girlfriend if I could do a photo shoot for them this afternoon.  I don't want to ruin the surprise, but I can't resist posting one of their photos!  Not only was it fun for me to take these, but I got to have tuna melts for lunch (one of my favorites) at their place and took home brownies to share with Phil.  Yum!

2009 Annual CBEA Conference

My experience at this year's CBEA Conference was bittersweet.  I became a member of the CBEA Executive Board back in December of 2002, before I got my first full-time teaching position.  Being part of this organization gave me continual opportunities to network with other business educators, and to gain experience as a leader in my field.  For the first time since I became an educator, I am no longer part of this group.  I was 2008-2009 president, and acted as past-president this year.  At our conference this week I was given the opportunity to present a session about using literacy strategies to teach business education courses.  Presenting this session gave me a chance to share ideas and strategies that I've collected throughout my years as an educator, and I was excited to hear great feedback from educators that attended my session.  Of course, I loved photographing the day as well!  Here are a couple of my favorites from throughout the conference.

Meeting Sox!

I was so excited to see Kate & Chuck's new place in Rhode Island over Columbus Day weekend!  Sometimes there is nothing better than having girl time to go shopping, and of course Wrentham being only 15 minutes away provided us with the perfect opportunity to do so.  The sales were great, but I was really loving the chance to just hang out and chill with Kate since we don't see each other that often.  We let the boys watch sports all day, then met back up with them for some Mario Kart on Wii and dinner at The Melting Pot in Providence.  Yum!  While I was there I got to meet Sox for the first time.  What a sweet little man!  Loved how these photos turned out!

Pet Photography

I think one of my first loves was my childhood cat, Londy.  Pets enter our lives and make our hearts melt over and over again.  As a child I thought I wanted to be a veterinarian because I love animals so much.  These days, as I enter into the world of photography, pets are one of my favorite subjects to photograph.  I just love capturing their personalities in photographs.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Baby Boy

These photos are from back in March, but I had to look at them again since this little boy just turned a year old!  He's got such a sweet demeanor, and the huge baby smile in the last photo is just too cute!

Wedding: 8/9/09

Here are a couple of photos from a recent wedding.  It was a beautiful day for their outdoor ceremony and everyone was in good spirits!  I think my favorite moment was seeing the bride and groom with blue frosting (groom's cake) all over their faces.

Playground Shoot

What's more fun than hanging out on the monkeybars at the playground?!  I love the soft light and fun expressions in these shots.
